The resistance and the wall

Uncategorized Nov 03, 2023

When you see, know, and understand resistance for what it really is, you'll also accept that it's part of the journey of transformation.

Resistance is what the Mind/ Body does; and how the Mind/ Body behaves when we are shifting and transforming.

It starts in the Heart (Spirit).... and then you'll need to learn how to guide the Mind/ Body follow.

If you want to know what that feels like.... It's like when you tell your kids it's time to leave.... and they don't hear you, they are whining, they drag their feet, they bargain with you, they negotiate.....

Your children are the Mind/ Body that still needs to catch up with the plan and vision.

AND then when they really aren't hearing you, and you pick them up against their will, they cry, scream, kick their legs in the air.... and it's completely chaotic.

It creates disconnection, and that DOESN'T work....and then you're now constantly anticipating the "fighting" (that's the same experience of "the wall").

However.. if you connect with your children, you understand that they really don't want to go, they can feel you get them... and you are talking to them and guiding them... You will give them notice. You will do it respectfully and you share with them based on where there development is and with a reverence for where their brain is at.

Even though they know they want to stay, they will follow you and surrender to your lead.

The most effective pathway is when your child surrenders to your guidance...

And that's also the most effective pathway for Transformation.

Creating a practice that allows the Mind/ Body to surrender to the guidance of the Heart.

When you're into self-mastery, your relationship to "resistance" is different to someone who is into "fixing themselves" under the guise of transformation.

If you're in the energy of fixing yourself, you feel a wall.

If you're in the energy of transformation, you understand that this is the resistance that provides the opportunity for growth.

New levels, new devils...Which really is the same devil just in another outfit.

It's a lie when coaches, mentors, and leaders of transformation tell you that you can create permanent change in a weekend, in a week, in 3 months.... and this is the one that REALLY riles me up... in one session.

Yes, there is relief.
There is even ecstasy and bliss.
And there are such HIGHS which feel so expansive...

I get it. And that's not transformation.
That's a chemical hit.

That's why you keep going back.

You're swept up in the "energy" outside of you - AND you haven't integrated and embodied it.

That's like going on holidays and continuing to crave it after you come back and judging your life when you're not on holidays.

I'm all for that chemical hit... I love holidays too!

And, I'm also very aware that there's a difference between a chemical hit and transformation.

What I know is that transformation is a very simple process, with a consistent practice, repeated over and over - until it's embodied and integrated.

Simple - not easy.

Our minds don't like simple.
And our minds don't like consistency.
Our minds couldn't care less about change.

Our minds want to be satiated with what it knows, with familiar challenges, familiar thinking, familiar feeling, and familiar states of being.

The mind is like a monkey jumping from one thing to the next for the same experience...

You can't change your mind when you don't know the difference between a chemical hit and transformation.

There isn't anything wrong with the chemical high in your body... just don't be driven by it.

In Vipassana, we learn this by sitting still and not moving for hours on end, feeling the chemical reaction.

When you get the pins and needles, don't move.
When you get the burning pain and the heat rising up in any area of your body, don't move.

You breathe into it, you relax into it, you observe it... you don't meet the resistance with resistance.

Because the law is this.

What you resists, persists.

The resistance isn't there for you to resist it or judge it; it's there for you to be the observer of it and witness it.

It's a sign of the next level of growth.

It's an indication that an old part of you is about to die. And your Mind/Body is hanging on to what it knows...

That's what creates a chemical reaction within you, that energy circulating, that's called "resistance".

Is there growth without resistance? I don't know.

However, what I do know is that resistance isn't something to be feared or judged.

It's something to be welcomed, and appreciated, and it's asking you to relax into it.

Sending love,
Yummii xx

PS If you feel conflict with your children - same thing. That's the resistance within you. Soften it. Lean into it. Relax into it... and see what opens up.

Nothing has ever been solved or changed from a place of tension.
And everything has been solved and shifted from a place of relaxation and softening.
